North Carolina Panther’s Cam Newton Injured In Car Crash

Cam Newton was involved in a two-car crash near the North Carolina Panther’s stadium today. Witnesses say the QB’s truck flipped four times but was conscious on the scene when he was placed on a stretcher and into an ambulance to be taken to the hospital.

According to the Panthers:

“Further testing revealed that Cam Newton has two transverse process fractures in his lower back and no further internal injuries,” the Panthers said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. (ESPN)

It sounds horrible, but ESPN says Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo also suffered the same back injury and only missed one game. Doesn’t mean the same will be true for Newton but I’m sure everyone is praying and wishing him a safe, fully and speedy recovery.
