[UPDATED] Shots Fired At Lil Wayne’s Miami Beach Home Police On The Scene
Gun shots were reported at Young Money CEO Lil Wayne’s Miami Beach mansion on Wednesday morning, according to Miami Beach police.
Reports say police received a non-emergency call from someone not in the home that four people had been shot. As late as 2:30PM police had not made contact with anyone in the home, and although SWAT teams and K9s were on the premises no evidence of a shooting taking place on the ground have been found.
This story is still developing, so far we know Lil Wayne was not home during the alleged shooting from a tweet sent by the label.
The local police department took to Twitter to clear the air, explaining that no one was injured and that the incident appeared to be a “swatting call.”
After authorities broke “down the perimeter” of Wayne’s home, they discovered that everything was fine and saw no signs of foul play.
“Unfortunately this appears to be a swatting call. No victims/no injuries/no subject,” the Miami Beach Police Department posted.
“MBPD handles all calls of this nature in a serious manner. In this case it appears to have been a hoax @LiLWaynes home.”
