Rescue teams consisting of choppers and maritime units using SONAR equipment and intense spotlights searched the waters of the Seven Seas Lagoon Tuesday night and into the morning. A 2-year-old boy was attacked and dragged into the lake by an alligator on the shores of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  The Orange County Sherriff’s Office said the child had not been located, however, despite the hours long search officials remain optimistic calling it  a search and rescue operation.

The toddler was with his family visiting from Nebraska relaxing at the shoreline when he was attacked by the gator. There are no signs warning of gators in the area, although there are notices posted against swimming in the lake.
