Even with all of the strides made by girls’s sports activities, the gender pay hole is someway widening.
The 2025 Sportico high 100 highest-paid athletes checklist didn’t embrace any girls, with Coco Gauff lacking out on the $37.5M cutoff to interrupt into the highest 100. Equally, in 2024, no girls made the top-100 checklist.
That wasn’t the case when Serena Williams was operating roughshod over the tennis world. The American icon made the highest 50 checklist yearly from 2010 to 2018 and remained within the high 100 in 2021 and 2022, regardless of getting into only a few tournaments.

We now have extra proof that crowns Williams as a real oddity in a male-dominating sporting world.
Sportico’s new checklist of the 50 highest-paid athletes of all time has Williams standing tall as the only lady, coming in at No. 40 forward of legends corresponding to Kevin Garnett, Evander Holyfield and Andre Agassi.
