Indie outfit Louverture Movies (Nickel Boys) has boarded the forthcoming audio collection Black Caesar’s Revenge.
Joslyn Barnes of Louverture joins Jean A. Fall of the French-based Cinewax Movies and Elora Cadasse, CEO of the Martinique-based United States of the Caribbean, on the venture.
Black Caesar’s Revenge facilities on a bunch of unheralded pirates of the 18th Century, women and men of African descent who have been pressured to take to the excessive seas in the hunt for freedom after their abduction from an African civilization at its zenith, a thriving tradition of expert craftspeople and booming commerce.
The official synopsis reads: On the coronary heart of this thrilling journey story is the charismatic Black Caesar, hailing from the Oyo Kingdom (now Nigeria) and progressively bestowed with devastating (and bedeviling) powers from the deities often known as Orishas. He and his closest comrades should discover ways to navigate each perilous seas and the spirit realm of the ancestors, as they cope with the ruthless marauders who commerce human lives for revenue, slave masters who run their plantations with brutal authority, legendary pirates who terrorize the Caribbean sea in the hunt for fortunes, and traitors from inside the Oyo and neighboring kingdoms.
The venture is led by a cohort of creatives from Africa and the Caribbean. The group consists of South African showrunner and author Amy Jephta (Catch Me a Killer), the creator and author often known as Saber, and writer-director Kensley James (Strictly Confidential), in affiliation with composers from Power de Frappe édition. Manufacturing will start within the Fall.
Co-founded in 2005 by actor Danny Glover and writer-producer Barnes, Louverture Movies works throughout impartial movie, collection, and interactive initiatives in addition to artworks. So far, the corporate has produced or co-produced over 60 characteristic and documentary movies, collection, and artworks shot in 26 nations. The corporate was named after Toussaint Louverture, the chief of the Haitian Revolution.
