Texas residents are getting ready themselves for Hurricane Beryl – the tropical storm which has decimated elements of Mexico and The Caribbean since Thursday (4 July).
Residents on the coast are drilling wood boards to the home windows of their properties to guard them from the excessive winds, and any particles that could be caught within the hurricane.
“It’s only a regular day in paradise,” says Jimmy Could, a Port Lavaca resident.
Beryl introduced rain and rising winds to Texas immediately (7 July), and is predicted to make landfall as a Class 1 hurricane on Monday.
Texas Lieutant Governor Dan Patrick warned residents that it will likely be a “lethal storm” for these caught in its path.
